The Senior Transition Seminar is all about the search for Independence.  Seniors further develop their self-advocacy skills in school and at home and continue to work toward independence in all learning activities. If higher education is the goal, they finalize and complete the application process, including documentation needed to apply for supports and accommodations.Seniors prepare to meet with Disability Support staff at college or other postsecondary program to finalize supports and accommodations. Seniors learn to ask their IEP team and postsecondary staff if there are other adult agencies that can provide additional assistance or assistive technology if needed. If a degree in higher education is not a goal, students learn to ask their IEP team and the Transition Coordinator to help learn about other continuing education options that may be available.
